Hello birders -
Yesterday (Friday) there were at least 25 bald eagles sitting well out on the
ice at the Nanticoke power generating plant. A telescope was needed to separate
them from the Canada geese and tundra swans in the same area. Occasionally an
eagle flew inland, often soaring above the high berm to the east of the plant,
where red-tailed and rough-legged hawks were hunting. Best lake views were
along South Coast Drive just east of the plant.
Thanks to "Tom" for his March 4 directions, below. We had a great day!

To get to Nanticoke, Take Hwy 6 South from Hamilton, just before
Caledonia, take the bypass to Hagersville, go through the town of
Hagersville, and a few kilometers out of town, turn left ( south ) on
Sandusk Rd. ( 18 ) and continue down Sandusk Road to Rainham Rd. Turn right
( west ) here and look for Bald Eagles in the trees/air, and out on the ice
in Lake Erie.
To get to the Lake, take South Coast Drive, which is between
Nanticoke Rd. and Sandusk Rd., on Rainham Road.
