Hello everyone: This report comes on behalf of Keith Lee (Tiny).

What a wonderful afternoon in the pouring rain at the Brighton Constructed Wetland! First I have to say that 80+ individuals visited the Wetland and Sewage Lagoons this weekend.

Now the good stuff - 8 Bonaparte's Gulls, Rubythroated Hummingbird, 2 Mute Swans and Oscar (Trumpeter Swan), Solitary Sandpipers, Redwinged Blackbirds, Moorhen, Least Sandpipers, Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, many Cedar Waxwing, Mallard, Wood Ducks, Common Grackle, Virginia Rail, Green-wing Teal, Blue-wing Teal, Short- Billed Dowitchers, Wilson's Snipe, American Widgeon, Stilt Sandpiper, Tree Swallow, Green Heron, Sharp shinned Hawk, Mourning Doves, Spotted Sandpiper (Saturday), American Kestrel (f) Friday. Also the Mute Swan family is still in residence. The number of young has dropped from eight to five (Snapping turtles more than likely the cause of the decrease in number). Catfish and its parents (Osprey) left the Wetland three weeks ago.

I would like to thank the individuals who told me what was present at the Wetland today. Also, Glen - I mentioned the bird you saw to Doug Mcrae, he thinks it might have been the Common Yellowthroated Warbler. On behalf of Tiny we thank everyone who braved the elements to join us at Brighton Constructed Wetland and Sewage Lagoon.

Maureen

Directions: The Constructed Wetland is located at the SE corner of
Brighton. From Hwy 401, take the Brighton exit 509 (Hwy. 30) and follow
it south into town. Go south through the two traffic lights, over
the railway tracks and follow the main road, now called Prince Edward
Street, south. About 1 km south of the tracks, the main road begins
to swing to the left and becomes Cty. Rd. 64. As this long turn
ends the Constructed Wetlands appear on the right side.
