This morning ca. 10:30 a male Red-bellied Woodpecker was found at the western
end of Greenland Rd, where that ends at the Ottawa River.

Directions: take the Eagleson / March Rd.. exit off the 417, going northwest
on March Rd. for about 5 miles, until you reach the exit right onto Dunrobin
Rd. (continuing northwest). After 6 miles, take a right going northeast on
Vance’s Side Rd. After a mile and a half or so, take the left onto Greenland
Rd. (going northwest again), and follow it to the end (over 2 miles), where you
reach the Ottawa River. Park there and just to the west, at the base of a
little point, there is a heavily worked dead birch in the open woods, within 20
yards or so. This the Red-bellied Woodpecker seemed to favour.
