And what a magnificent display this bird put on from about 10:45 AM TO 11:20 AM when I was there at 8 Aberdeen. Great views at it sat in the sun at the top of the flowering crab tree, possibly warming up. Also close views while eating berries in the low barberry bush. Great to see experienced birders such as Jean Iron and Mark Cranford and other OFO members offering advice and assistance.
Some excellent manners shown by most birders, and good commraderie between neighbours and birders. One lady raking her leaves had commented to me that she had yet to see this bird, so I was later quick to bring its presence to her attention. One birder loaned her his binoculars while another provided views through a scope. She was thrilled and delighted by the experience. Doesn't get much better than this.
