The strong North-westerlies seem to have blown some birds into the Ottawa area;
at 3PM today I saw an adult Black-legged Kittiwake flying rapidly over the
Ottawa River at Andrew Hayden Park, I was able to watch it for several minutes
until it disappeared from view over the Deschenes Rapids. This morning, and
also at Andrew Hayden Park, an adult tundrius Peregrine Falcon was hunting
Ring-billed Gulls. Slightly further afield, there were a half dozen or so Snow
Geese and at least 2 Cackling Geese among thousands of Canada at the Winchester
Lagoons.
