Hi all,

At around 3pm today Sunday Jan 3rd, George Pond and I observed approx 50
American Pipits and 1-Snow Bunting, on Conc 9, just West of Cheapside Rd, were
Mike, and Dennis have previously reported the Lapland Longspurs. After much
effort I did find at least 2-Lapland Longspurs in a flock of approx 25 Horned
Larks further East on Concession 9, in the corn field on the South side. There
is a major influx of birds in and around these corn fields, and on a better
weather day, it certainly would be worth careful scoping the fields for other
Longspurs, today you could hardly stand up, or see in the blinding snow.

Directions: Courtesy of Mike Street. From the traffic light in Hagersville,
follow Reg Rd 20, towards Nelles Corners. Cheapside Rd, starts and runs South
off Reg.20 just before the 'Hagersville Junk Yard'. Concession 9 is the third
cross road. Turn right (west) and look for the birds on the road and all the
fields North and South, in and around the small Pine Plantation.

Happy New Year to all,

Dave Don
