It was mostly cloudy but the sun shined through. Temperatures topped off in the low 70s. Winds were from the south east today and stayed light. Raptor Observations: What may have been our last of the Turkey Vultures came through just before noon (EDST). Our biggest push was only 186, and only 213 were counted for the day. Sharp-shinned Hawks continue to move through at a consistent number with 45. Biggest news is the 4 Golden Eagles that came through today, 1 sub-adult and 3 juveniles. These 4 birds were noted moving by the smoke stacks to our north as the birds moved west, and all between 10am and noon. A total of 271 birds were counted of 8 species. Non-raptor Observations: Predictions: Tomorrow will be cloudy but unusually warm, temps expected to hit the high 70s. A lot like Saturday was, and will probably be slow for raptor migration. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Greg Norwood ([email protected]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.drhawkwatch.org _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
