Hi all
At least 4 of the 7 Gr. White-fronted Geese found by Jack Romanow along the
Carp River in Carp around noon to-day (Dec.4), and reported by Bruce Di Labio,
where seen from about 4:30PM until darkness settled around 4:50.
I could not see any when I arrived around 4:00PM, neither did a couple of other
birders who had checked before I arrived.
Numerous flocks of geese came in after 4:00PM; it is probably with one of these
flocks that the White-fronted returned.
Credit goes to Martha Petrie's keen eyes, who arrived there after me, for
finding them among the large numbers of Canada's as darkness was quickly
invading the area. Congratulations and thanks to you, Martha.
Good luck to anyone looking for them tomorrow.
Langis Sirois, Ottawa
Directions: From Ottawa take Hwy. 417 to Carp Road exit. Keep right and follow
towards Carp, cross March Road and watch on the right for the large flooded
area just before the bridge.
