Hello fellow birders,

This morning the fields on the 11th line between the Tottenham Rd & the 10th
Sideroad (the Beeton Rd) North of Beeton had lost substantial water.  There
were still pleanty of shorbirds to see including Black bellied plovers, Greater
& Lesser yellowlegs, Killdeer, Semipalmated plovers, Pectoral sandpipers, Least
sandpipers & peeps too far away to identify.  There were also many gulls, Ring
billed & Herring.  I did not see any white winged gulls.

When I returned at 2PM the water had almost totally subsided for a good part of
the way between Tottenham Rd & the 10th Sideroad.  There were still most of the
birds mentioned above but in many fewer numbers.  As the afternoon wore on I
was watching near the eastern stretch East of firelane 6300 & flocks of
shorebirds started arriving.  There was still a good showing but many more
gulls & fewer shorebirds overall.  Some flocks were as many as 50 birds.  The
fields to the east & west are the deepest with the most rewarding views.

Good birding,
Susan Menzies
