Mark DeAbreu just confirmed a white morph Gyrfalcon at the corner of Eglinton Avenue East and Victoria Park.
It was well viewed, eating a pigeon atop a light standard in the parking lot of the Golden Mile Shopping Centre. I arrived in time to see it for about a minute before it took it's meal somewhere out of sight on the roof of the shopping centre. I said the bird was "confirmed" because it has been in the area for a month or more. Today was the first time it has been seen well enough for a positive ID. Aside from being lucky, the best way to see the bird is probably to stake-out the south-east part of the parking lot and wait. There is a large supply of food (pigeons and gulls). I have no idea how widely it's ranging, but it has definitely been returning to this site.
