Hi Ontbirders:

As I was leaving the Rockcliffe Parkway at Green's Creek this morning after
watching 3 to 4 great gray owls (7:30am to 9:00am is the best time for seeing
these owls active), a Northern Shrike was perched right by the road. A shrike
had been seen at this same location in past weeks.

At the Hilda Road feeders, at least 4 dozen Common Redpolls and a Merlin early
this afternoon. Someone emailed me and mentioned seeing the Merlin there again
late today (4:30pm) as well as the resident Ermine (weasel). She also
mentioned seeing two Ruffed Grouse crossing Lois (a cross street at Hilda)
yesterday. Ruffed Grouse are known to be at this location.

Someone reported two Carolina Wren at Mud Lake this morning.

This afternoon, I along with a few others enjoyed seeing two great gray owls
over on the Quebec side (unfortunately, cannot mention exact location). You'll
get your fill at the Ottawa location. As I drove home, based on a tip, I saw a
third owl not far from where the two owls were seen. Happy birding.
