Hi Ontbirders:

Found some Pine Grosbeaks this afternoon including males at the Ottawa Duck
Club on March Valley Road near the intersection of Riddell. While down there,
I ran into long time Ottawa birder Bruce Dilabio who mentioned seeing 2 Great
Gray owls from March Valley Road at a distance. On his blog you can read about
two more owls that he found later on...one near his home.

A visitor from Virginnia managed to photograph a Brown Creeper at the Hilda
Road feeders yesterday. He showed me the photo. Not the easiset bird to
photograph.

Late today, went to see if the Northern Hawk Owl was at Robertson and Eagleson
but did not find it. This is not the most reliable bird to see which is why I
had forgotten all about it until yesterday when someone mentioned seeing it (he
sent me a photo as well).

Warning: Although authourities have been tolerant of vehicles being parked off
the side of the road on weekends at the Rockcliffe Parkway at Green's
Creek....I saw what looked to be a NCC vehicle handing out tickets late this
morning. So, best to park at parking lot P8 down the road. Unfortunately, P8
does not have the biggest of capacity. So get there early if possible to
ensure a parking spot.

Anyone coming to Ottawa to see the owls will have no problem seeing them.
They're always there....every day. People are there watching the owls during
the week as well. So, just look for the people.

Directions:
Pine Grosbeaks: Head west on Carling past Rifle and turn right on Hertzberg.
Right again at March Valley Road and continue left along same road. Go almost
to the end just before Riddell. This is where the Ottawa Duck Club feeders are
located.
