Today was the 4th day of spring banding by the Holiday Beach Migration 
Observatory at Hillman Marsh. Not much turn over in passerines today with the 
same species banded as earlier in the week. Details are as follows: 
 
Downy Woodpecker - 1Northern Flicker - 1
Tree Swallow - 1
Brown Creeper - 2
Golden-crowned Kinglet -3
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 11
Hermit Thrush - 2
Yellow-rumped Warbler - 1
Swamp Sparrow - 2
White-throated Sparrow - 1
Red-winged Blackbird - 8
 
New species for the year seen at Hillman Marsh today include: a pair of Eared 
Grebe; Eastern Meadowlark; and Forster's Tern. I forgot to mention that the 
first Purple Martins were seen yesterday. The first female Yellow-rumped 
Warblers were also seen today.
 
Hillman Marsh is located 6 miles east of Leamington on Oak Street.
