What:
Red Knot (Calidris canutus) medium shorebird with reddish chest and straight
bill.

Where:
Windermere Basin in Hamilton. Present on July 31, 2013 and also relocated today
as per a recent report from Hamilton birders.

The basin is surrounded by industrial land and is considered restored as an
estuarine ecosystem providing a sanctuary for wildlife and passive recreational
use.

Red Knot at the basin pond, a scope is required for good observation.

Directions:
>From Hamilton off Eastport Drive, entrance East of South Gate Rd. Pier 24/25
>will put you in the right area, look for a small parking area and trail. Also
>accessible from Strathearne Ave. North off Burlington St. East.

Sorry, this is a tricky area to get into, (for me anyway!) it is best to bring
a print out of the area from Google Maps, simply Google 'Windermere Basin'
'Hamilton' to get detailed view of the streets in the area, I did my best to
explain it!
