Visitors:
It was nice to see a few visitors return from earlier in the month as well
as some new visitors from St. Catharines, Windsor, Ohio, and Michigan.
Everyone was very enthusiastic about learning raptor ID points today!
Weather:
A cool and cloudless morning with winds from the N, warming up and turning
to SE winds in mid-morning.
Raptor Observations:
It seems that all the Broad-winged Hawks that roosted around the region
last night flew this morning so we had over 1400 of them go by before the
winds changed. Things really slowed down after that but we got some good
looks at Northern Harrier and a few juvenile Bald Eagles migrating.
Non-raptor Observations:
620 Blue Jays came by in the morning but other than that it was pretty
quiet. 5 species of warblers were seen in the afternoon in the trees around
the tower. A nice highlight was a fledgling Cedar Waxwing that sat on the
tower railing a few feet away from us and called to its parents for a
couple of minutes, providing a beautiful look at the young bird. 5
Monarchs. See today's eBird list

Predictions:
A warm day with 25-30km/h winds from the SW.
