Had a great surprise this evening as we went into the back yard to enjoy the sunshine...and a gorgeous Eastern Bluebird was sitting on our fence...sadly did not have camera with me.
When we lived further down on the Trailway nr. Pelee Winery, we had a pair of Indigo Buntings (Passerina Cyanea) every year in early May which we loved. We have a wonderful selection of birds...have a pair of Common Grackles (Quisalus Quiscula) nesting in one of our cedar trees; we have a pair of Cardinals...but think Mrs. Cardinal is on her nest as have only seen the male for the last few days. We also have our regular Redwinged Blackbird, Robins, Bluejays, House sparrows and Black and White Warbler (Moriotilta Varia) and several pairs of Song Sparrows so have lots of entertainment. Will let you all know if the Eastern Bluebird returns....or if the Indigo Buntings find us in our new home...which is not that far away!!! Do have some wonderful photographs of that pair. Happy birding. Sadly I am handicapped now and on a scooter so although enjoy running down to Pelee Point and along the Marsh (we are members), cannot do the birding trails. Used to do some great trails in the Kingston area in Bath many years ago.
