Hi folks:
Spent a few hours yesterday afternoon at the Perth Wildlife Reserve just south
of the town of Perth west of Ottawa. There was a very good mix of resident and
migrant birds, including a number of FOY for me in eastern Ontario. Highlights
were American Bittern (showing nicely on the edge of a small pond), a pair of
Sharp-shinned Hawks on a nest, three Osprey, four Northern Harriers, Barn and
Tree Swallows, Eastern Bluebird, Winter Wren, Brown Thrasher and Rusty
Blackbird.
Directions:  From Perth take County Road 1 (Rideau Ferry Road) south and turn
left on Wildlife Road (sign for reserve on corner).
Good birding
