Great morning at Oshawa Second Marsh 
Highlights:82 species6:20 to 9:48am
120 Little Gulls 2489 Bonaparte's Gulls Appears strong north winds overnight 
pushed the roosting flocks further from the marsh overnight. Strongest flight 
came between 7:30 and 8:30am. 100s of gulls still in marsh at 9:30am
24 species of waterfowl including Canvasback, Ruddy Duck, 4 Cackling Geese, and 
lots of Shovelers, Green-winged Teal, and Pintails
many new arrivals this morning including 3 species of warblers, 3 species of 
wrens

DirectionsExit from the 401 at the Harmony Rd. Exit(419) in Oshawa. Go south on
Farewell St. Colonel Sam Drive. Turn East onto Colonel Sam Drive and follow
to the parking lot at the GM Headquarters. Park in the west parking lot
close to the marsh. The east (GM) platform is visible from the NW corner of

trail map of the area. FYI an April 21 report on ontbirds reported another 
viewing tower in the ne corner of the marsh in the woods. This tower is not 
there, it was burnt down by vandals 5 years ago.
