Before I report my sightings, two things:
1. please make sure you close the gate when you exit the lagoons... it is
not self-closing. It was open when I got there this a.m.
2. a huge shout out to Durham Region Works Dept. who immediately stopped
filling the south lagoon when I told them of the concern with degrading the
shorebird habitat - well done Durham!
now the highlights:
an adult female Connecticut Warbler (see comments below) and 9 species of
shorebirds show the lagoons to continue to be excellent.

Pied-billed Grebe (Podilymbus podiceps) 3
Virginia Rail (Rallus limicola) 1
Semipalmated Plover (Charadrius semipalmatus) 3
Killdeer (Charadrius vociferus) 6
Baird's Sandpiper (Calidris bairdii) 2
Least Sandpiper (Calidris minutilla) 6 - way down in numbers due to deeper
water
Pectoral Sandpiper (Calidris melanotos) 1
Semipalmated Sandpiper (Calidris pusilla) 12
Wilson's Snipe (Gallinago delicata) 1
Greater Yellowlegs (Tringa melanoleuca) 8
Lesser Yellowlegs (Tringa flavipes) 78
Bonaparte's Gull (Chroicocephalus philadelphia) 175
Black Tern (American) (Chlidonias niger surinamensis) 27
Nashville Warbler (Oreothlypis ruficapilla) 2
Connecticut Warbler (Oporornis agilis) 1 clear full eye ring, robust
warbler, olive-gray hood, yellow belly, green back, less boldly marked than
male would be expected to be at this time of year - seen beside Nashville
for
