S., Bryce B., Geoff P. and Meghan D.
Weather:
Another hot sunny day with some humidity in the morning. Winds started
moderate from the NW and then round through NE and finally SSE. Temp got to
a high of 25C.
Raptor Observations:
Another small flight today with a total of 152...the bulk of which were
Sharpies(118) along with Badl Eagles (5), N. Harriers (6), a single
Broadwing, A. Kestrels (19), Merlins (2) and a lone Peregrine.
Non-raptor Observations:
A few reports in the "Other" category....with nearly 2500 Blue Jays tallied
...woodpeckers (Downy, Red-bellied, Hairy and N. Flicker), Redstart, WB
Nuthatch, RT Hummingbirds, Gray Catbirds, BC Chickadees and Cedar
Waxwings.
The Monarch count today was 73.
Predictions:
Well they say winds are supposed to be light from the NW for the entire day
tomorrow with lots of sunshine. There will almost certainly be birds on
the move but they may prove difficult to spot in the blue. :)
