Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 7 hours

Official Counter: Sean Jenniskens

Observers: Dave Martin, Jim McCoy, Linda Wladarski

Visitors:
Jim M. came up the tower for a brief visit with his w, only to find out
raptor migration was hard to find. Dave M. and Linda W. also joined me on
the tower for a little while. Later in the afternoon, two brothers stopped
by, one from Vancouver BC, the other from Fort Lauderdale FL, both visitng
the area to celebrate their mothers 100th birthday! The Camo Girls (Kelly
and Haidi) made a brief appearence on the tower as well.

Weather:
Light Southerly winds all day, bringing back warm temperatures and no
birds!

Raptor Observations:
Slow day, a slight trickle of Turkey Vultures to the distant North, and the
occasional bird in closer. A Merlin came in the attack the fake owl and sat
in the leafless poplar closest to the tower for a couple minutes, but did
not migrate.

Non-raptor Observations:
Migration of Horned Larks(182), American Pipits(60), and Cedar
Waxwings(1,043) was very evident today, as well as Purple Finch(56), and
American Goldfinch(159). Only 220 American Crows migrated past. For the
full eBird checklist, go to http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S32331810

Predictions:
Another warm day tomorrow, with some seemingly variable winds and a chance
of rain.
