Highlights: There were some signs of migration this week on the back of some northerly winds (mainly shorebirds and warblers) but nothing super rare. Here are the highlights of the last week: SANDHILL CRANE - 2 birds were seen on Florida Road, Murvale, on 3rd. AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER - 2 birds were seen at a former stopover location on 4th Line, Wolfe Island on 3rd. BAIRD'S SANDPIPER - a single bird was reported from Kingston's Inner Harbour on 1st. PEREGRINE FALCON - there were just 2 sightings this week, of singles at Camden Lake on 6th, and Prince Edward point on 4th. LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE - 2 birds were still present at Napanee Limestone Plain IBA on 6th Sept. HOODED WARBLER - a hatch-year male was banded at Prince Edward Point on 5th Sept. WILSON'S WARBLER - there seemed to be a reasonable movement on 3rd, with 4 birds reported from Wolfe Island. In order to minimise disturbance to wildlife and property in the recording area, Kingston Field Naturalists has adopted the KFN Sensitive Sightings Policy <http://kingstonfieldnaturalists.org/birding/KFN_sensitive_sightings_policy. pdf> . Please note that you must be a card-carrying member of Kingston Field Naturalists (KFN), or be accompanied by a member, to access both the Martin Edwards Reserve and Amherstview Sewage Lagoons. As always, a big thank you goes to all those who have submitted sightings directly or via eBird. Mark. Mark D.
