NANOG has been all, well, agog about this over the last day.

The irony is that PSInet terminated peering with Abovenet, Exodus, 
and some other folks in exactly the same draconian way that C&W
did with PSInet.  Karma is a bitch, film at 11.

As for MAE-East, apparently several ports on the gigaswitch were
turned off which many of these greybeard network types interpret
as the end of MAE-East.  My Internet geography was never very good,
so I'm not sure really.
