similar. go into the extensions manager in Apple menu => control panels.
Select the macos only (or whatever) option to select only the extensions
that are part of OS 9. Reboot. That should make things better provided
you aren't missing any extensions you need. The extensions manager and
tcp/ip control panels are the two most handy ones.
