I gotta agree with Eric here. I haven't tried any of the "alternate" systems, because I've never found a need to, and I can be pretty retarded when it comes to these things. Install from source, do some really basic config stuff, and it just goes. Sure, ten years ago, you needed to use the thousand-page book to make it go, but things are pretty darn simple now. If you like postfix or whatever, that's cool, but I don't see any justification for learning a new system just to get away from sendmail.
