I got it fixed!
There is a squeeze command, which is basically like empty the recycle
bin
- it clears out and reclaims the space of deleted files, thereby
freeing
my up like 23MB of space in FLash.
Once i had the space, it was easy to copy the new OS image over to both
supervisor modules, rebooted and now i can see all my ethernet Line
Card
Modules. hooray!
phew!

In the olden days you could transfer directly over the serial console,
I think using xmodem/crc or some such arcanity. Dunno if it's even
possible anymore and it would royally suck to do 15 meg images that
way....

Anyone here used a PCMCIA/PC Card with a Catalyst Switch?
I'm trying to use a standard PC ATA card, and not a Cisco branded
one,
however i'm not sure if its possible or not. I've been searching
Cisco.com
and Google but cannot confirm or deny it. All Cisco documentation
only
speaks about Cisco cards.
When I try to read it, it gives an error about bad device info block,
which Cisco.com says is because its not formatted. WHen i try and
format
it i get an error about cannot find flash algorithm.
I am in a real annoying Catch-22 situation...
I just took delivery of a new Cat 6513 switch, which boots up fine,
i can
attach via teh console to both Supervisor modules and they seem fine,
however it could not read any of the RJ45 switch modules/blades
installed.
After some helpdesk calls, my CatOS had to be upgraded to support
the Line
Modules. All the upgrade instructions involve tftp, so you need to
use a
Line Module to do the upgrade, but i need to do the upgrade to get my
modules working.
I was hoping i could use the PC Card to transfer the bin image from
my PC
to the Catalyst, but so far not having much luck.
If any of you have knowledge or experience of a similar situation,
any
advice or ideas would be much appreciated..
cheers!
