Don't see how you can consider this to be cheating. You can set the default
at whatever you wish, as long as you bring it to the customer's attention
Frankly, I prefer to sell everyone 10 years and collect all the money
upfront and save on the expense of billing them for renewals.
I also offer a discount for multiple year registration.
Realistically, most chose the one year option.

Yes, fair cheating the name of this tip. Why not ten years ? :)
But, personally i prefer to leave that customer with one year
to receive revenue next year, just to safe business.
After really hard first year you can just collect renewals from
existing customer, have a planned income for all year and spend
more time for new customers. In your case it possible only after
second year in business.
But for short term it's a good tip.
