Yes, I have this problem too. Otherwise I would have to use this aterm
command line:

aterm -fg white -sl 2000 -cr green -tinttype true -sr -trsb -tr -fb
nexus -fn nexus -sh 40

Sorry to say this (if there are any aterm developers on this list), but
the aterm defaults are totally lame. I have to use "-fn font -fb font"
to get rid of the ugly bold characters (same applies to rxvt). 

What is the difference between the way wmsetbg and Esetroot set the root
image compared to bsetgb?
