Hi

Thanks to all who responded.  However I now note the "bsetbg" is
simply a wrapper (not so simply) into bsetroot and other apps.  It is
this tool which my question is really about.

I want to set the root bg by something like:

bsetroot -gradient flatverticalgradient \
    -from rgb:bb/a1/6d -to lightyellow

However I want this in so that aterm/Eterm transparent windows keep
their transparency and update asccording to the current root
background.  So far I cant see that this is possible.  The workaround
is to create a gif from my background, but this is a bit of a hack.
