I didn't mean it that way; I apologize. I simply meant that some people
would rather not deal with the added binary size and subsequent RAM
usage, let alone the CPU cycles necessary to make edge resistance work.

I'm not sure that edge resistance falls under the 8-ways-clause,
actually, I'm pretty sure that it doesn't. Things like having the icon
menu in a myriad of different locations can get absurd, and I agree with
you in that respect.

One of the best things about open-source development is that since the
code is reviewable, anyone with the skillset necessary can write a patch
to do anything they want to do. The license that Blackbox is released
under legally ensures this freedom. I, for one, do not have the
skillset to write an edge resistance patch, otherwise I would have done
it many months ago when I started using bb instead of wmaker.
Open-source programmers usually write code for the sole purpose of
scratching an itch, and I'm telling the rest of the bb community that I
have an itch that I simply can't scratch. I just want to keep it in the
forefront of everyone's collective minds that if such a bbpatch, I would
be the first in line to help it get tested. If nyz or morel decided
that the patch was up to par, easily configurable, didn't conflict with
other codebase changes, and didn't add a significant amount of ASCII to
the codebase, I'd be the Champion to get the patch committed to the base
tree.
I'm sure everyone is tired of this thread, and I've said my peace.
Remember; I love patches :).
