Use the operating system you are most comfortable with. The tools y\you
use will probably be the same for any you choose.

In my own experience, I have found that BSD's have better programmer's
manual pages. I also notice that BSDs usually install the programmer's
manual pages in the base install; Linux's usually don't (but of course you
can always add them later). Also, if you are trying to right generic code,
it may be a better idea to use a BSD, because as far as I can tell, BSDs
are more strict. But, of course, you can write code on a Linux box that
will port to BSDs, Solaris or whatever.

I am trying to see how this could be on-topic; maybe: how do others use
blackbox in their programming development? (What do you have in your menus
for developing? Multiple workspaces for different development tasks?)
