Try editing /etc/XF86Config, or whatever it is on your RH laptop. If the
FontPath lines that end in '100dpi/' and '100dpi/:unscaled' come before the
ones that say '75dpi/' and '75dpi/:unscaled', switch them. That should make
the fonts a bit smaller.
