Bzzzzzt.  "Feature", not "bug". :)

You can "rip off" any submenu and stick it where you like -- if you
place it on the corner of the screen for example it slides out when you
mouse over it etc.  Very neat.

To make it disappear, right-click on the toolbar of that menu-window.
