The window at the bottom of that screenshot can be generated with
paralogger(1), which is what I use to generate 'root tails' on my
desktop. Using another program, colortail(2), it makes your logs easier
to read by separating each log section into different colors (ie.
date/time blue, ip green, message yellow) and also helps with window
placement, size - really there are too many features to list, so it's
best to check it out yourself.  With the transparency of eterm, you get
the appearance of the logs tailing right on your background. I know a
log (or logs) tail is the main kind of window that people want to remove
decorations from.
