I have FontPath "unix/:7100" in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 and xfs running (default in rh 7.2) > What fonts exhbit this problem? The fonts contained in most of the themes here: http://artwiz.artramp.org/index.phtml?section=art_themes http://bb.nlc.no/themes.html But for a specific example look at this theme: http://www.themes.org/themes/662/ It's using the mints-mild font. Here is how it's supposed to look: http://www.themes.org/themes/662/screenshot/ And here is how it looks here (but notice how the aterm displays the font correctly?): http://home.online.no/~geir37/bb-big-fonts.png > Are true type fonts also being used? Yes, it seems so. Snip from /etc/X11/fs/config catalogue = /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc:unscaled, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi:unscaled, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi:unscaled, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/cyrillic, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/CID, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/local, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/latin2/Type1, /usr/share/fonts/default/TrueType, /usr/share/fonts/default/Type1, /usr/share/AbiSuite/fonts, /usr/share/fonts/ja/TrueType > Any other info you may have is welcome. I think every default RedHat 7.2 install will have this problem :( The system is a typical install of Redhat 7.2 with all updates applied (X configured during install) The fonts are installed with: 1. cp *.pcf.gz /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi 2. cd /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi && mkfontdir && xset fp rehash 3. /etc/init.d/xfs restart 4. I then restart X I used to have the *.pcf fonts from the themes in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc before when I had RedHat 7.1 and I had the same problem then. All the *.pcf fonts will have the correct size in Aterm, Eterm and xterm. Let me know if more info is needed. Might be the best way to reproduce it is to find a RedHat 7.2 box, dunno.
