Take a look at this: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg01336.html And at this message I sent a while ago. I have had this problem on Solaris 8 (sparc), when the display has lots of color depths. xdpyinfo says something like (I am doing this from memory): screen #0: dimensions: .... resolution: 75x75 dpi depths (4): 32 16 8 2 on other Solaris 8 boxen when that just says: (also memory) depths (1): 16 things are fine. I did some tracing thru the code then, and it was definitely linked to color depth problems. (bb 0.62 maybe?) -James --- end old email ---
