Hm. I just tried it on my computer, and it worked for me. I turned on the Russian - Phonetic keyboard layout, made a new contact in Address Book with some random Cyrillic characters for a first and last name, and made a playlist in iTunes that also had Cyrillic characters for a name. After I re-scanned the catalogue by pressing Cmd-R in the Quicksilver command window, both would show up when I began typing Cyrillic characters into the command window.
Have you re-scanned the catalogue before searching? By default QS will re-scan every ten minutes, but if set to re-scan less frequently it may be some time before any new items show up.
