I remember hearing about this but don't remember if there was a
solution.
I have my shelf and CB history panes set to appear when I mouse to the
side of the screen (well one on the side the other on the bottom). Do
this by dragging the pane so that it's partially off screen. When you
drop and move the mouse away the pane will disappear in a second. when
you mouse back to that edge it will reappear. This might fix your issue.
