Hi Patrick,

Thanks very much for the details. I've done what you've said, and now
Quicksilver shows me the Current Application item, but when it's
highlighted and I click the right-arrow, I'm not getting "Show Menu
Items" or similar. All I get is the "XYZ.app" item. Navigating further
into that, I get some options, but no menu items.

Do you have any suggestions?

I have the User Interface Access (+) plug-in enabled, I have Proxy
Objects enabled in the Quicksilver Catalog preferences, and I have
'enable access for assistive devices' enabled in System Preferences ->
Universal Access.
