I have just tested ß60 and am seeing the same problem.

If you go into Quicksilver's Preferences > Click the 'command' tab and
change the 'wait before searching' slider to be greater (e.g. 0.1s) does
this resolve your problem?

Are you running Mac OS X Lion, and is your Mac getting on a bit (seems
slower on Lion)?
