Somewhat different from what you asked for, but is relevant IMO. For common text strings, you may want to look at the shelf functionality in QS as well. You can put any text (as well as other stuff, folders, files, etc.) and assign the shelf a kb shortcut. This is also explained very well in the nice manual by Melman.
