I've encountered this as well. It seems that the "." typed to get into text
entry mode is considered a part of the snippet calling string. e.g. If you
have a snippet that is called by ".{",
Bringing up QS, typing "." to enter text-entry, then typing "{", will
activate the snippet.
This was not always the case; I believe before QS 1.0, the "." was ignored
somehow.
