I've used quicksilver for ... the past 5 years. It is stellar. I recently
began experiencing some abnormal shutdowns of my imac (3.4 GHz Intel Core
i7 running OS X 10.9.5). The computer turns instantly dark, and can't
restart without unplugging for a few minutes. It started happening quite
frequently and I took the iMac into the Apple store, expecting them to tell
me about some bad memory. They stress-tested it for a few days, handed it
back to me with a $0 bill and said, "nothing's wrong with the hardware, the
shutdowns are being caused by an app called Quicksilver." I stared at the
dude, unbelieving, and then forced out, "I'd rather pay for new memory...."
He stared at me, then said, "I know that some people live and die by
Quicksilver, you might look into Alfred." I walked out with computer.

I have pretty much confirmed for myself that the unplanned shutdowns only
happen when Quicksilver is running. Sometimes it gives me a few days before
a shutdown, sometimes it doesn't make it through the startup sequence
(which is a little scary). Has anyone else experienced or heard of this?
