Problems like this are almost always related to the "Expand after" setting of the group in which the snippet resides. That is, if the snippet group "Expand after" is the default "whitespace", then TextExpander doesn't 'know' that the . or ' you type to enter text input mode didn't actually get 'typed', it thinks you are typing ".abrv", not "." then "abrv". Change the "Expand after" to "any character" (if this is suitable for your abbreviations), or type a space first into the text input area. Thanks for using TextExpander from Smile!
