May I suggest downloading the manual from http://qsapp.com/support.php Quicksilver is easy to use, but sadly not obvious. Don't give up on it, it took me at least week before I "got" it.
Jump straight to the Web Search section (page 90). Assuming you have it all installed completely, you could bring up Google search in the first (subject) pane, Search For in the second (action) pane, and your string "weather near geelong" in the third (object) pane. You can change the look of the command window in the "Appearance" Preferences under "Interface" (and see the Interfaces section of the manual).
