Glad you got it working.

I'm pretty sure the URL the web search plugin uses has been updated 
(blacktree.com is the old home of quicksilver, everything should be using 
qsapp.com now). 

Sadly the manual is old and some stuff is out of date, though its still useful 
for lots of examples and finding all the bits you need to get right to 
configure something (even if some details like the URL are incorrect). Since 
the manual was written Quicksilver's plugin help has improved greatly. In the 
Plugins prefs, select a plugin and the ? button in the bottom right of the 
window will open help for that plugin. That's the most up-to-date help info 
available for plugins.

FYI, you can check what items a plugin adds to the catalog as follows. Go to 
the Catalog Preference Pane. Find the "catalog source" you want (say in the 
Plugins section in the left pane). Click the i button in the lower right corner 
of the window and look at the Contents tab of the popup. (As I said before 
about QS, easy but not obvious :) )
