Hello,
when installing iptables, an extra part will be installed when after executing
make install
the command
make install-devel
is given.
For the versions iptables-1.2.11 and earlier these were needed for installing patch-o-matic, for extensions.
For the latest versions (1.3.1) these extensions are included at the source distribution and the patch-o-matic is not needed anymore.
When using the versions before 1.2.11 there could be a remark about install-devel in the BLFS
book 5.1.
I don't know the software installed by make install-devel is needed by any other software apart from pom. Is there than this remark could be an idea for the later versions of the BLFS book (6.0)
I jsut upgraed iptables in SVN last night. We are very close to releasing BLFS 6.0. It is not appropriate to go back to change BLFS 5.1.
