I'm not seeing this, but I build the KDE I'm using *after* firefox. Is
this behavior actually in the firefox build instead of kde?

I do install kde in /opt and I see several .desktop files in
/usr/share/applications/

Most of my .desktop files are in /opt/kde/share/*
