I really don't know. I am simply just confused now. What I've discovered is that in GNOME if I insert a device, it does not get mounted. *However*, I just noticed that if I open Nautilus and click on the computer icon that lists all the available devices either mounted or having 'noauto' options in /etc/fstab, then it switches to a different window containing the various available devices. If I simply click on the icon for the inserted USB device, it then automatically mounts and allows me to browse the contents. Not sure how or why. -- Randy rmlscsi: [GNU ld version 2.15.94.0.2 20041220] [gcc (GCC) 3.4.3] [GNU C Library stable release version 2.3.4] [Linux 2.6.10 i686] 15:59:00 up 5 days, 23 min, 3 users, load average: 0.12, 0.04, 0.08 -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
