Yes, only for DVI files, but I don't see any of that about eliminating
t1lib in the docs for evince.

You're right.  I just looked over the log and t1 was not included.  I
guess the default rendering of Type 1 fonts in DVI is pretty good on
evince.  I think I'll rebuild it with the patch and see if I notice
any difference.  Thanks for the patch and the info.
